supporting our mission

How You Can Help . . .

For more than a quarter of a century, The St. John's Boys' Choir has been dazzling audiences with its inspiring performances, and relaying the message of the powerful effect of music education on not only the lives of young people, but in the cultural capital of communities. The list of SJBC's accomplishments is a testament to the belief that young people can accomplish incredible things when challenged to do so. The young men who have passed through our doors have grown into reputable men who carry on the mission of the choir in their own ways.

The choir has been able to carry out its honorable mission for 27 years due to the support of people who share our goal of promoting the value of music education. Only with your continued support, can we continue to grow young men of the future. Please consider contributing the choir in one of the following ways.

Direct Sponsorship

SJBC is committed to providing cultural and musical experience of the highest caliber to all its members, regardless of their ability to contribute financially to the organization. Our families are asked to contribute only what they can, and many are unable to contribute at all. We depend on the generosity of others to make this program work to develop the musical, social and cultural education of each child. Even the smallest donation makes a difference. Here are some ways in which you can help:

$10
pays tuition for one under-privileged child to attend a 10-week after-school music program hosted by SJBC
$35
provides a shirt and tie for a Junior Varsity member's performance attire
$60
provides private recorder instruction for one boy for an entire season, aiding musical development and complementing theory instruction
$80
purchases a complete set of one piece of music for our Concert Choir
$100
provides payment for our entire student staff on any given night, as they teach recorder, theory, vocal techniques and ear-training
$225
covers the suggested donation for "tuition" for one member of the Training Choir (i.e. half the cost of the educational aspects of our program for one Training Choir member)
$500
provides bussing for one of the choirs to perform outreach concerts and minister to churches in under-served areas of Minnesota
$1000
contributes significantly to the airfare for one Concert Choir boy to travel to Europe, to gain invaluable cultural experiences such as performing in Dvorak Hall and visiting the Terezin Concentration Camp
$2250
covers the costs of the educational aspects of our program for one Concert Choir member

Annual Fund

Donations to the SJBC Annual Fund help offset the operational costs of our organization. Our goal for 2007-8 is $28,000 and while we are getting closer and closer, we're still not yet at the target. We invite you to consider donating to this fund to ensure that the quality of our program remains strong.

* Annual Fund donors are recognized in our annual Viewbook.
